Course Adjustment and Book 5
Hello Void and friends,
It is hard to do anything while your kids are sick - and also when you are sick.
Feeling better and sharing a few updates. I finished a book! I forgot to share that one of my “creative adjacent” goals is to read more books. I set out to read 12 this year but the arrival of my son hit the brakes a bit. So I settled on 6 or 7 books this year. This one was “Embrace Your Weird” by Felicia Day.
It was an empowering read. Great tools to help on this creative journey, and half of why I started the blog. One tip I want to bring up is to focus on one creative project at a time. Per my previous post - you can guess that this is hard for me. I like running around between things. Having a few irons in the fire.
Thinking back on my experiences, it helped to have scheduled times for the creative activities. Classes, rehearsals, tech week. These scheduled events kept me honest and working towards the goals outside of the scheduled times.
So revised goals: First is to run this Dungeons and Dragons encounter (and build the small world it takes place in). Second, to draft 3 songs by the end of the year. That’s it as far as active creative projects. And when I am don,e I will send it into the Void!
FYI: My next book is “Salem’s Lot” just in time for the spooky season.
